PRUDENS ExeSpy (tm) (32 bit) for Windows 95 V4.0
Auguest 23, 1996
WHO NEEDS EXESPY
================
Note - ExeSpy can be very useful when you upgrade your Windows from Windows 3.x
to Windows 95. When you upgrade your Windows system, the installation of
Windows 95 does get rid of SOMETHINGS which can create incompatibilities and
update SOMETHINGS (newer versions of DLLs, for example). Your 16 bit
applications worked fine in the past. After the upgrade, some of these 16 bit
applications break, GPF, ...
Note - ExeSpy can be even more useful when you encounter the problem that an
application can not start. Important to know, many DLLs, VBXes, etc are
shared by software developed by different companies. Some installations just
replace whatever you have on your hard disk with whatever they put on their
shipping disks without first doing version checking and so on. That then
causes other applications to break. ExeSpy can tell you what modules an
application is trying to load and its success or failure in loading these
modules.
Besides, ExeSpy can also act as a reverse-engineering assistant. Have you ever
wondered what is happening behind the scenes when you start a Windows
application? ExeSpy tells you what happens when an application starts -
what gets loaded, how windows/controls are created, etc. ExeSpy, used along
with DLLCheck, IniSpy, digs out the secrets of Windows 95 for you.
No matter if you are an end-user or you are a system administrator, it is always
wise to have some tools and utilities on hand in order to detect and fix the
potential problems that may happen when you make a change to your PC or PCs.
We strongly suggest that ExeSpy and IniSpy occupy an important place in your toolbox.
We also recommend that you should seek out other SpySuite members.
